About Amy Carnevale 

Amy Carnevale is the Massachusetts Republican Party Chair. Amy was born and raised in the Bay State to a mother who worked nights as a nurse and a father who owned a small business.

Amy volunteered in the White House while attending college at the George Washington University, where she graduated with honors. While in school, she spent three years working part-time in both the White House Office of Presidential Personnel and the Office of Political Affairs. Amy then went on to work in the Drug Czar’s Office and for a conservative think tank, Project for the Republican Future.

Following the historic Republican Revolution in 1994 which gave Republicans control of the U.S. House for the first time in 40 years, Amy worked on Capitol Hill for former Rep. George Nethercutt (R-WA), the Congressman who had defeated the sitting Speaker of the U.S. House. Working on issues including healthcare and natural resources, Amy worked her way up to serve as the Congressman’s Chief of Staff at the age of 28. In this position, she managed four offices, a staff of about 18 and an annual budget of over $1 million. As a senior staff member, Amy was directly responsible for overseeing fundraising outside of the official office and coordinating with campaign staff on messaging. In 2004, over $8 million was raised for a U.S. Senate race.

After 10 years on Capitol Hill, Amy translated her political and policy skills to work for a law firm where she now serves as a Republican federal government relations consultant. While living in Massachusetts, this position allows Amy to interact with Republican Members of Congress. Amy was elected to the firm’s PAC Steering Committee in 2022 which manages contributions of about $500,000 per election cycle in careful compliance with campaign finance regulations.

Amy serves as member and was a previous Chair of the Marblehead Republican Town Committee. She is a member of the Massachusetts Republican State Committee where she has served since 2012, having defeated the incumbent by a margin of 64%-35%. Amy served on the Platform Committee at the 2024 National Convention, on the Credentials Committee at the 2020 National Convention, on the Platform Committee at the 2016 National Convention and on the Rules Committee at the 2012 National Convention. Amy chaired the 2014 and 2018 Massachusetts Republican Platform Committees and authored the base text of the Party’s current platform.

Amy resides on the North Shore with her husband Tom and their three children, Cameron (2009), Tyler (2011) and Eliza (2015). Tom is also a native of the North Shore is now a full-time dad and “sports manager” to their three children who are active with hockey, NASCAR youth auto racing and cheer.
